I'm running for Congress to be a champion for the middle class, to use my medical background to make health care better and more affordable for everyone and I will work to reduce the influence of Wall Street and corporate special interests. - David Gill

SIGN THIS PETITION: Congress needs a 2nd opinion from Women

The war on women's health

Republicans and even some anti-choice Democrats in Congress have been waging a pitched battle against women's health care.

No fewer than 10 anti-women's health care bills were introduced in 2011 by anti-choice extremists in Congress.  Whether it's their attempts to defund Planned Parenthood or block access to birth control, the assault of this GOP Congress on women's health care and the right to choose must be stopped.
That's one important reason I'm running for Congress. I'm proudly pro-choice. As an Emergency Room doctor, I'm ready to be a strong advocate for better health care services for women of all ages.

I will never waver in the fight to ensure that women, especially low-income women without health insurance, can access life-saving cancer screenings. I will strongly push back against any effort to block women's access to contraceptives.

Legalized Bribery?

What would you call it when you pay $347 million and get a $20 billion return? When it comes to the way Congress works, I think we should call it "legalized bribery."

Consider this: In 2009 and 2010 alone, big oil and energy interests pumped out $347 million in campaign contributions and lobbying fees to influence Congress. And it really paid off--to the tune of $20 billion in government energy subsidies. Big oil earns record profits but middle-class Americans are stuck paying more at the pump

It's not right and I'm sick of it. I'm running for Congress to Clean it Up and stop corporate money from destroying our democracy.

I won't take a dime from banking interests, the insurance lobby, or corporate PACs. I don't think Congress should be for sale to the highest bidder and I know we can't restore the health of our country until we end this system of legalized bribery.
